The F.L.A.G Compound is separated into two structures: Building B and the Underground Facility, also known as FLAG1.
Building B
Building B houses the Research and Development Department. It was where the Knight Industries Two Thousand was developed by Wilton Knight and Charles Graiman over twenty years ago. All new members of F.L.A.G are required to spend time in the R&D Department before they are allowed underground. The one exception to this rule being K.I.T.T's Driver.
The building has two aboveground floors and four underground levels.
FLAG1
The Underground Facility is the true face of F.L.A.G. K.I.T.T is housed here along with all of the equipment needed to keep him operational. There are two entrances to the Facility. One is Building A, which is directly above it and houses the Elevator and a Guard Station. The second is the Tunnel, which leads directly underground. There are three levels that make up the facility: The Main Lab's Upper and Lower Floors, and the Residential Area.
Residential Area
The Residential Area houses the Team's quarters, the Rec Room, the Gym, the Security Office, the Cafeteria and Kitchen.
The Team's quarters employs a buddy system. Every member of the Team shares their quarters with a roommate. There are two exceptions, Charles and David, who each have their own room.
The Rec Room is where the Team can socialize, relax, and have fun. Books, magazines and game consoles can be checked out from here, or played on one of the four large screen TVs. There are several couches and chairs for relaxing, and a few game tables set up. There is also a phone with an outside line for personal calls to family and friends. For security reasons, all calls are recorded.
The Main Lab
The Main Lab is made up of two circular levels. The Upper and Lower levels are connected via two metal staircases located opposite each other.
Main Lab (Upper Level)
This level houses David's Office, Charles' Office, Angela's Studio, the Forensic's Lab, and Cold Storage.
Cold Storage is where F.L.A.G's main servers are located. The room is kept at a low temperature to prevent the servers from overheating. Because the room is so cool and dry, it is also the perfect place to keep older paper records and files.
Main Lab (Lower Level)
This level is the largest and houses K.I.T.T's circular lift; his entrance to the Tunnel. Pierce's and Carmen's workstations are placed around the circle, giving it a wide berth in case K.I.T.T needs to maneuver. The workstations are separated by wide paths that lead to rooms connected to the Main Lab(Lower Level). Such as the Medical Clinic, the Vault, the High-Risk Testing Room, the Clean Room, and the Wash.
The Clean Room is a sterilized, sealed room. It is the only place that K.I.T.T's CPU Core is allowed to be opened in. It houses specialized equipment used to repair and maintain K.I.T.T's CPU Core. Because of the sensitive nature of the equipment, the room is locked at all times. The only members of the Team who have access are Charles, David, and Pierce.
The Vault is where Carmen stores K.I.T.T's various bodies and where she outfits K.I.T.T. Only she and David have access to this room.
The High Risk Testing Room is exactly what it says on the tin. -Pierce
The Tunnel
There is a ten mile long tunnel connecting directly to the Main Lab. The other end exits out in the desert, away from the F.L.A.G Compound and is concealed by a sliding hatch. The hatch is camouflaged so as to not be easily spotted. If K.I.T.T is being pursued, he can enter the tunnel at top speed and evade his pursuers. The length of the Tunnel gives him enough time to slow down before he hits the lift.
'Hitting the Lift' meaning both figuratively AND literally. - Pierce
